| Personal Background | PHILOSOPHY I believe that in working as a real estate agent, one must bring to the table all the necessary components to serve as an educated and well-rounded consultant. My work in the real estate industry has evolved from a background in business, law and the arts. This combination of disciplines, I believe perfectly correlates to the work done by a real estate agent. Knowledge and appreciation of art, architecture and design along with a detailed market analysis, well written contract and intelligent negotiation serve as the foundation of a successful real estate transaction. Real estate is my passion. I recognize that I am advising individuals in one of the major assets in their portfolio, and as such work seriously and diligently and strive to obtain optimal results for my clients.
SALES Due in large part to my work in the upper brackets markets of Georgetown and Kalorama, I have been recognized in just 4 years in the industry as being in the top 2% of the over 44,000 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agents nationwide for the 4th quarter of 2008. One of my recent listings includes an 1857 Georgetown estate offered at $7.4 million which, when sold, resulted in one of the top six sales for 2008 in Washington, DC. As a current resident of Kalorama and a former five year resident of Georgetown, I am able to share with prospective clients a unique local perspective and insight into two of Washington’s most historic and prestigious neighborhoods. In addition to these neighborhoods, I have listed and sold properties in various locations in Northwest DC and have represented clients in northern Virginia as well as the Virginia horse country in and around Middleburg. I am also an independently licensed broker in New York where I have focused exclusively on the Manhattan market.
EDUCATION The core of my experience leading me to real estate began with the discipline, attention to detail and artistic appreciation received from years of classical training and performance in piano which started at the age of 4 at the Cleveland Institute of Music. College studies in the humanities and business at John Carroll University expanded my knowledge of the arts while providing a basic understanding of the world of business. My education was completed with the decision to obtain a J.D in law in 1989 from Case Western Reserve University.
WORK EXPERIENCE Prior to my work as a real estate agent, my years of employment included work as an attorney (admitted to the New York, DC and Ohio bars), as a corporate benefits consultant with fortune 500 clients including B.F. Goodrich and Cole National and most immediately before as owner and settlement attorney for Constitution Title and Settlement, a DC based title company.
